Strategic Metals Ltd has released a Scoping Study and a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for its Division Mountain Coal Project in Yukon. The project aims to supply coal to a coal-fired power plant to provide a cheaper alternative to imported diesel and LNG for the Yukon grid. The PEA indicates a total capital cost of $978.6 million and a base case after-tax IRR of approximately 8% at an electrical sales price of $194/MWh.
