EDM Resources Inc. has announced successful final results from its Dense Media Separation (DMS) pilot plant study at the Scotia Mine. The study demonstrated that DMS pre-concentration can increase zinc feed grades by 18.4% and lead feed grades by 33.5%, with high recoveries of 88.4% for zinc and 99.7% for lead, potentially reducing overall processing costs and improving project NPV.

The tests demonstrated high recoveries, with 97.3-97.6% for zinc and 99.4% for lead, indicating a strong separation of mineralized material. These results suggest that Dense Media Separation (DMS) could significantly reduce overall processing costs by pre-concentrating ore prior to flotation.
